Heritage meets craft: our collaboration with Fankery

This year, we’re celebrating the Year of the Horse alongside Cathy Fan of Fankery, an Auckland bakery where traditional Asian flavours meet contemporary pastry craft. Cathy’s work is rooted in both nostalgia and innovation honouring her heritage while creating something entirely her own.

For our Open House on Sunday, 1 February, Cathy will be creating celebratory treats that embody symbols of prosperity: pineapple cakes shaped in Mahjong moulds and delicate mandarin-shaped choux puffs. Each is a nod to tradition, reimagined through Fankery’s distinctive lens.

Fankery will also be designing a specialty drink to demonstrate using espresso from our Linea Mini. Guests will learn how to make it themselves and take the recipe home to try with their own espresso setups.
